The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay recently honored Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister for his dedication to mental health care here in Hillsborough County.
In 2023, suicide rates among first responders dropped more than 25%, and it’s thanks to innovative collaborations with organizations like the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay and support from law enforcement leaders that make that possible.
“When I became Sheriff, I quickly realized that one of the biggest obstacles we faced as a society was mental health care options,” Chronister said. “We’ve made great strides, but there is still a lot of work to be done.”
