Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister recently joined 10 Tampa Bay to discuss mental health resources within his agency in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, but his advocacy goes beyond dates on a calendar.
Chronister aims to normalize mental health care, equip his team to prioritize mental well-being through innovative programs and community collaborations and end the stigma surrounding mental health challenges.
Among other programs, Chronister has partnered with the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay to provide deputies with mental health tools, and he reminds anyone in or out of his agency that it is OK seek help when needed.
