Appointed Tampa City Council member Lynn Hurtak secured her first election to District 3 Tuesday, defeating former Sen. Janet Cruz after a blistering campaign that became a referendum on Mayor Jane Castor.
Castor, whose domestic partner is lobbyist Ana Cruz, Janet Cruz’s daughter, came out on the losing side.
In District 1, Alan Clendenin secured victory over Sonja Brookins to replace incumbent Joe Citro.
Guido Maniscalco will switch to District 2 from District 6 after securing a win over Robin Lockett.
Charlie Miranda came out on top in District 6 over attorney Hoyt Prindle and will swap from District 2.
