Trouble in Toyland: New report spotlights dangerous toys and how to keep kids safe

by The 100 Companies

U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor is spotlighting results from the Trouble in Toyland report from the Public Interest Research Group to warn parents of potential hazards for children this year due to dangerous toys.

Every year, 150,000 kids have died or been seriously injured as a result of toy-related hazards.

The report directed caution toward online outlets where toys lack myriad safety protections in place in the U.S.

Of particular note this year are water beads, smart toys that can invade privacy, high-powered magnets, button batteries and easy access to recalled toys despite laws making it illegal to sell them.
