New chair to shape future of engineering physics at Florida Poly

by The 100 Companies

Ian Bentley, the new chair of Florida Polytechnic University’s Engineering Physics Department, is planning to redesign the school’s first-year physics curriculum to bring the program to a new level.

Bentley previously served as the director of the Dual Degree Engineering Program at Saint Mary’s College and was an adjunct associate professor at his alma mater, the University of Notre Dame.

He said his position at Florida Poly provides an opportunity to build the engineering physics major of his dreams.

The current program launched in 2019 with the goal of producing career-ready graduates. Bentley’s enhancements are geared toward improving that goal.
