The Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street with Florida Humanities has brought its “Voice and Votes: Democracy in America” exhibition to Tampa, its first stop on a larger tour.

The exhibit opened in late March and will remain open at the Sulphur Springs Museum and Heritage Center in Tampa through May 19.

The exhibit examines American democracy over its nearly 250-year history and evaluates how each generation seeks to form “a more perfect union.”

Public programs will also feature scholars from the University of South Florida and the University of Central Florida on April 21, May 5 and May 19.
