Pinellas County Schools Superintendent Kevin Hendrick will stay in place at least until June 2028, after the School Board voted unanimously to extend his contract.
The vote extends Hendrick’s contract three years; future extensions will depend on the school district’s leader meeting or exceeding performance benchmarks, WUSF reports.
Hendrick oversees the eighth largest school district in Florida. He’s worked as a teacher, principal and athletic director in the district.
Hendrick assume the role in 2022 when he replaced previous superintendent Mike Grego.
Board members scored Hendricks well, with an average of 4.5 points out of 5 on his performance evaluation.
