In a unanimous decision Tuesday, the Pinellas County School Board has approved the appointment of Kevin Hendrick as the new Superintendent.

Hendrick will replace Mike Grego, who is retiring after a decade as the Pinellas County School Superintendent.

Hendrick worked as principal of Northeast High for nearly 10 years, improving the school from a ‘D’ to an ‘A’ grade institution. He was selected as a finalist in the statewide Principal of the Year program in 2017.

Most recently, Hendrick served as the county’s associate director for teaching and learning.

A native of Pinellas himself, Hendrick graduated from Largo High School.
