Tampa Bay Rays rookie Randy Arozarena is back with the team after missing the previous series at Baltimore.
The Tampa Bay Times reported Arozarena stayed in St. Petersburg to care for his wife, who is eight months pregnant and was hospitalized with COVID-19. Their daughter also tested positive for the virus. Arozarena said his wife had a rough weekend but her condition has improved considerably.
The Rays also placed pitcher Ryan Yarbrough on the COVID-19 restricted list.
Meanwhile, reliever DJ Johnson was diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff. He left Sunday’s game at Baltimore as a result of the injury.
