The Buccaneers had a Super Bowl hangover in their first preseason game, losing to the Cincinnati Bengals 19-14. But the score wasn’t the problem.
Head coach Bruce Arians called it, “probably the worst tackling experience I’ve seen in a long time. It’s like we had no arms. Some young guys put some embarrassing stuff on tape.”
The game marked the NFL debut for quarterback Kyle Trask. He completed just four of 15 passes for 34 yards, but receivers dropped two long perfect passes.
“Kyle went in there and made some throws and guys didn’t make plays for him,” Arians said.
