The 55th Annual Ybor City Chamber of Commerce Gala honored the Tamborello Family on Sept. 18.
Many remember the family’s service station as an anchor in the neighborhood, until Joe Tamborello Sr. retired and closed the shop in 2016.
“I call my family my constant village, and I do that because they are always there for me,” said Joe Tamborello, Jr. “Ybor has always been that type of village for each other, looking out for each other … I thought that was a great way to run a business, and I try to keep that going now as I run my own.”
