Sheriff Chad Chronister and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office are touting what they describe as a remarkable achievement in public safety.
Despite population growth, innovative strategies and community collaboration have significantly reduced the crime rate. As of Dec. 31, 2023, crimes impacting people and property decreased by 8% for the year.
Chronister has implemented several initiatives aimed at crime prevention and detection, ensuring the county remains a safe and secure place to live, work and play. Proactive policing, technology and community engagement are also credited for this success.
The agency vows to continue working to improve public safety this year.
