Ahead of the most romantic day of the year, the Florida Retail Federation is urging lovers to shop in-state.
A new survey found the average consumer will spend $186 to express their devotion with candy, cards, flowers and jewelry.
That’s $14.2 billion in retail sales nationwide, and the group hopes to keep Florida’s share of that haul at home.
“Consumers are celebrating more than just their significant others this Valentine’s Day,” Florida Retail Federation CEO Scott Shalley said. “Shoppers are buying for family members and friends this year, and Florida retailers are ready to help shoppers ‘Find It In Florida.’”
