Hillsborough Sheriff’s deputies and the agency’s aviation unit successfully rescued an 80-year-old man with dementia this week after receiving a call about a missing resident at a senior living facility.

Deputies responded to the call from Angel Senior Living and, using hotspot detection, the aviation unit was able to locate the man in a marshy area.

“This is a testament to the compassion and efficiency of team HCSO,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Our commitment to protecting every life knows no bounds, and this teamwork exemplifies that. Seeing the synchronized efforts of our aviation unit and patrol deputies makes me proud.”
