Fat Point Brewing celebrates grand opening at University Town Center

by The 100 Companies

Fat Point Brewing, founded in Punta Gorda, has opened a new location at University Town Center in Sarasota.

The 2,500-square-foot facility will feature coastal-inspired fare in addition to its award-winning craft brews, including its flagship ale, named Big Boca.

Additionally, the brew pub will feature exclusive small batches brewed on-site. Food options include gator bites, smoked fish spread, shrimp po’boys, umami burger and more.

The brewery’s name is a nod to the junction at Peace River and Gasparilla sound, called Punta Gorda, which translates to “fat point.”

Several brews – Bru Man Chu, Ryeght Angle and Oatmeal Stout – have won awards.
