Tampa International Airport (TPA) will be one of 98 Florida airports to receive part of the $1.2 billion in federal funding from the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
The law is allocating $21,711,252 for TPA just this year, to accommodate the more than 18 million passengers it serves.
This investment will create thousands of jobs as well as increase energy efficiency and improving accessibility for historically disadvantaged populations. It will also help the 100 million tourists Florida sees annually.
The legislation is expected to add an average 1.5 million jobs per year across the country for the next 10 years.
