In less than 15 hours, Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis found more than 1,100 individual accounts in the Tampa area worth a total of over $230,000.
That was during a live phone bank Patronis hosted at WFLA News Channel 8 last week, which viewers were encouraged to call in and check for unclaimed property accounts in their name. “Tampa just got a little extra holiday cheer in the form of $230,000 in unclaimed cash returned back to area residents,” Patronis said.
Patronis kicked off his statewide Holiday Money Hunt last week to encourage Floridians to search for unclaimed property.
