Jon Cooper in COVID-19 protocol but Lightning win at Vegas

by The 100 Companies

The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Las Vegas Golden Knights 4-3 Tuesday despite the absence of head coach Jon Cooper, who tested positive for COVID-19.

Assistant coach Derek Lalonde stood in for Cooper as the Bolts won their third-consecutive game and eighth in their last nine. The game, which was in Las Vegas, was the last NHL game to be played until after the Christmas break is over.

The NHL’s COVID-19 protocol dictates that when a person is when they test positive they must quarantine at the designated local hotel. It remains uncertain how long Cooper must remain there.
