The Florida Gators opened fall camp this week in advance of Billy Napier’s second season as head coach in Gainesville. This season’s biggest question is who will start as quarterback.
Anthony Richardson is now in the NFL so the top candidates to replace him are Wisconsin transfer Graham Mertz and returning redshirt sophomore Jack Miller.
“I’ve been impressed with (Mertz) the person, the leader,” Napier said. “This guy has an incredible motor and work ethic. He’s in the building, and he is fanatical about his preparation. Jack has had an incredible off-season and he’s in position for a great camp.”
