USF, Skanska launch mentorship program for local minority-owned businesses

by The 100 Companies

The University of South Florida and Skanska, a multinational construction and development company, are partnering to introduce a free mentorship program to assist small and diverse businesses in Tampa Bay.

The eight-week program will provide subcontractors with training, development and partnership opportunities to help companies with competitive bidding processes. Topics will range from environmental health and safety and field management to marketing and business development.

Firms will be selected based on recommendations from community partners, which include the Hillsborough County NAACP, The St. Petersburg Collective and the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.

The program’s first cohort begins in late August.
