Tampa Bay residents are feeling the cost of inflation – the region experienced a 9.6% average increase in prices last month compared to last year.
That’s according to recent data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, which showed that Tampa had the highest increase of the major markets included in the study, with cities like San Diego (8.6%) and Denver (7.9%) trailing.
It’s also higher than Tampa’s November number, which put the region at the highest in the nation with an 8% inflation rate.
Tampa is following regional trends, where the South and Southwest have become epicenters of inflation.
