More than 63,000 people rode the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority’s new SunRunner in its first month of operation, according to the agency.
SunRunner is the first true bus rapid transit route in the Tampa Bay area, connecting downtown St. Pete to the beaches along First Avenues North and South in mostly dedicated lanes with signal prioritization.
“To see how well the SunRunner has been received in our community after one month of service is truly incredible,” PSTA CEO Brad Miller said. “So many people are choosing the SunRunner to get to their destinations because it is fast, easy and convenient.”
