Memorial Day, the last Monday in May, to some means a long weekend to celebrate the beginning of summer, or when one may officially wear white for the season.
Others confuse the military tribute with another holiday – Veterans Day – when we thank generations of brave men and women who served in the armed forces.
Memorial Day, however, is the time we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom. As is tradition, please remember to lower your flag to the half-staff position until noon, then raise to full-staff for the remainder of the day.
