German tech company selects Tampa Bay as new U.S. HQ

Tampa Bay will become the U.S. headquarters for Germany-based information technology company AnyDesk.

The company, which offers remote desktop solutions, just opened its 2,700-square-foot Clearwater office last week, and is set to open a 6,000-square-foot Tampa office next month in the Tampa City Center, according to The Tampa Bay Business Journal.

AnyDesk selected Tampa Bay over Silicon Valley and Austin, citing its local universities, international airport and the lifestyle Florida can offer employees.

The company is set to double its local workforce by the end of the year. Anydesk has about 40 local employees, with plans to add another 40.
