Former Bucs Defensive Coordinator Monte Kiffin to be added to Ring of Honor

Defense was the calling card when the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl in 2003, and defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin was the mastermind behind their success.

To acknowledge that, Kiffin will be enshrined in the team’s Ring of Honor at Raymond James Stadium. The ceremony will take place Sept. 29 at halftime of the game against Atlanta.

Kiffin learned of the honor last year, but COVID-19 delayed the ceremony.

He served as the defensive coordinator for 13 seasons, during which the Bucs had one of the NFL’s top defenses. It included Hall of Famers Derrick Brooks, Warren Sapp, and John Lynch.
