Sheriff Chad Chronister commends Sergeant Donnie Rizer for his extraordinary response, bravery, composure and genuine care during a crash. Sgt. Rizer responded to a call involving an overturned minivan with a distraught mother and her five children.
Seeing only four children accounted for, Rizer discovered the last child trapped in the vehicle and rescued them, despite risks to his own safety.
Sgt. Rizer’s compassion extended even to recovering a pacifier for a distressed child, which he meticulously cleaned before returning it.
Sheriff Chronister asks the community to join in saluting Sgt. Rizer for his exceptional bravery, selflessness and inspiring actions.
