A long streak of local high school football futility has come to an end.
The Brandon Eagles, once a formidable opponent, ended a 43-game losing streak with a 44-20 victory over Freedom High School.
It was Brandon’s first win since the opening game of the 2018 season, and the Eagles prevailed in style. Held without a touchdown in their first three games this season, Brandon erupted for 30 first-half points, including 22 in the second quarter.
Their 44 points were more than their last 20 games combined.
Their second-quarter output was only two less than their total from last season.
