5 ways to detox after the holidays

The holidays are filled with family, friends, fun – and food. If, like most, you enjoyed too much of the latter, here’s how to detoxify your system:

– Drink a lot of water. Water flushes your system of salt and fuels your kidneys, which rid the body of toxins.

– Stay away from sugar and carbs. Instead, stick to foods high in protein, fiber and fat. These will provide long-lasting fuel for your day.

– Don’t eat hard-to-digest foods, such as pasta, fried foods and dairy.

– Get plenty of sleep.

– Stay active. Aim for at least 30 minutes of daily exercise.
