USF will be facing an angry Florida Gators squad on Saturday at The Swamp, but the Bulls at least have a little momentum for the in-state showdown.
The Bulls rebounded from an opening loss by defeating Howard 42-20 to even their record at 1-1. They had six rushing touchdowns, and the defense forced three turnovers.
The Gators, meanwhile, are coming off a 26-16 home loss to Kentucky in Florida’s SEC opener. Quarterback Anthony Richardson had a particularly tough night, completing just 14 of 35 passes for 143 yards and two interceptions.
Florida beat USF 42-20 last season in Tampa.
