Rays get positive about injured relievers

by The 100 Companies

The Rays’ bullpen could soon receive a boost as key reliever Andrew Kittredge recovers from lower back tightness that landed him on the 15-day injured list. Assuming Kittredge has no setbacks, he is eligible to return to the active roster on Friday.

There also is encouraging news about right-handers Luis Patiño (left oblique strain) and Nick Anderson (right elbow surgery) as they continue to work their way back to the active roster.

Patiño felt fine during a 26-pitch bullpen session and will soon face hitters in batting practice. Anderson, meanwhile, reports no ill effects from multiple bullpen sessions per week.
