The city of St. Petersburg has retained Minneapolis-based Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath to represent the city on redevelopment of the Tropicana Field site and a new baseball stadium. The contract is for $250,000, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
City Administrator Rob Gerdes is also leading negotiations with the Tampa Bay Rays and Hines, the selected development team, on the new ballpark. He also created four draft term sheets to reach a stadium deal and commit the Rays to staying in St. Pete for an additional 30 years beyond the team’s current contract, which expires in 2027, the Times reported.
