IDEA Public Schools to offer free meals to all children this summer

IDEA Public Schools, beginning this week, are serving free meals to any child in the community at their two campuses in Hillsborough County, helping ensure children who rely on schools for nutritious meals won’t go without this summer.

IDEA is providing breakfast and lunch to kids ages 18 and younger in IDEA Tampa Bay cafeterias Monday-Friday. Breakfast is served from 7:30-9 a.m. and lunch is served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Food service will be closed on federal holidays, including June 19 for Juneteenth, and July 3-7.

One in seven Florida children face hunger, according to Feeding America.
