The executive council of the Florida Bar’s Business Law Section has appointed Shumaker Partner Willard Blair to chair a Chapter 517 Task Force.
There, he will work alongside a select group of securities laws practitioners to prepare reform legislation for Florida’s securities laws statute. Blair has been practicing law for more than 15 years.
“I look forward to working with Mr. Blair and the Chapter 517 Task Force to revise outdated language, increase investor protections, and improve the capacity for Florida-based companies to raise money while also increasing local investment opportunities for Floridians,” OFR Commissioner Russell C. Weigel, III, said.
