Tampa’s iconic go-karting and mini-golf hub has closed its doors for good. Grand Prix Tampa opened in 1978, and has been a go-to for entertainment with two go-kart tracks, an arcade, batting cages and a mini-golf course.

“We regret to inform you that Grand Prix Tampa is permanently closed,” the company’s Facebook page posted Monday morning.

Last year in December, Christian and Carlos Yepes purchased the property for $8.2 million. The new property owners have plans to erect 11 three-story apartment buildings with 298 units on the property at 14320 N. Nebraska Ave., according to the Tampa Bay Times.
