TV journalist talks economy at Poynter

Television journalist Ali Velshi has covered a wide range of topics in his career – everything from the near-collapse of the U.S. auto industry to the Syrian refugee crisis.

These days, his work for NBC and MSNBC focuses on the economy. Velshi is known for explaining complex topics in relatable terms, which will come in handy at a Poynter Institute Community Conversation called “Business & The Economy, Explained.”

The conversation will tackle questions like: What’s happening with the U.S. economy? What’s coming next? And how will economic shifts impact businesses?
