Despite a 2-1 loss Sunday in 10 innings at Seattle, the Rays have reason to feel good about themselves.
While the setback broke a six-game winning streak during their west coast road swing, the Rays have climbed into second place in the American League East, just two games behind the Yankees.
“We played really, really good baseball here over the last six, seven days, even today,” manager Kevin Cash said.
During the winning streak, the Rays outscored their opponents, 39-20. They have won 13 of 18 after starting the season 5-6.
The road trip concludes with three games at Anaheim.
