New hotel in St. Pete’s Edge District gets preliminary nod

by The 100 Companies

St. Petersburg City Council has unanimously approved preliminary plans for a 13-story hotel on Central Avenue in the burgeoning Edge District of St. Petersburg, according to St. Pete Rising.

The $26 million plan also includes 5,000 square-feet of commercial space.

The project is expected to include 114 hotel rooms, new retail space and pathways connecting Central and Baum Avenues.

Parking issues that had been holding up progress have been resolved.

The Edge District has become in recent years a popular destination for dining, shopping and night life. It’s adjacent to Tropicana Field, which is in line for a major redevelopment.
