Developer closes on property for Pinellas County’s first Tesla Center

Pinellas County is set to build its first Tesla Center after Delray Beach-based Truett Realty Group received approval from county officials to redevelop a 4.2-acre site on U.S 19.

The site, in the Lealman area, is set to become a 102,000-square-foot Tesla sale, service and delivery center. TRG closed on the property, which previously operated as a Kane’s Furniture liquidation center, last week.

“We’re thrilled to execute on an adaptive reuse project that will transform a building originally developed as a distribution center into a state-of-the-art Tesla facility,” TRG Principal Rob Truett said.

Construction is expected to start this summer.
