Report: Tampa has 4th most senior homebuyers nationally

Tampa Bay has the fourth-largest share of senior homebuyers across large metro areas in the United States, according to a new report from Construction Coverage.

In the Tampa Bay metro area, homebuyers aged 65 years or older accounted for 11.7% of all home purchase loans in 2020. Tucson, Las Vegas and Phoenix had the highest number of seniors making home purchases in large metro areas.

The combined Sarasota, Bradenton and North Port area landed at No. 3 for midsize areas, with 22.6% of all home purchases being made by seniors in 2020.
