The Hillsborough County Commission and BayCare Health System have agreed to invest nearly $4 million to benefit mental health services in Tampa Bay.

The commission approved a 30-month contract to support Tampa Bay Thrives in providing mental and behavioral health services to help residents impacted by the pandemic. The county agreed to give the program $1.99 million with money from the American Rescue Plan. The funds come with a match from BayCare, bringing the total near $4 million.

“We look forward to helping normalize mental health and making help more accessible to all,” said Carrie Zeisse, CEO of Tampa Bay Thrives.
