Set in Brooklyn’s Brownsville neighborhood, “brownsville song (b-side for Tray)” is a poignant story of resilience in the face of tragedy.
The play, which opens at Tampa’s Stageworks Theatre on Feb. 9, tells the story of Tray, an African-American teenager whose life is violently cut short. It moves fluidly between past and present to show the family’s life before the tragedy, their struggle to hold on to hope after loss and the impacts on their relationships.
The play revolves around the bonds of family and how they can be tested, fractured and ultimately repaired. Tickets are available online.
