Workforce housing planned for Raytheon site in St. Pete

by The 100 Companies

Clearwater-based Porter Development LLC announced plans to develop the 29-acre vacant Raytheon site located at 1501 72nd St. near Tyrone Square Mall, according to the Tampa Bay Times

The plan calls for 1,058 units, with 300 income-restricted for workforce housing. Of those 300, half would be for renters earning at or below 80% of the Area Median Income and half for those earning at or below 120%.

The developer acquired the property in 2021. It’s been vacant since 2006. Developers originally planned a sports complex, but abandoned that idea after pushback from the community. City Council member Copley Gerdes welcomes the density.
