Tampa General Hospital (TGH) has landed a coveted stamp of approval by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The voluntary certification specifically recognizes the TGH Cancer Institute for meeting the strict standards required by the society’s prestigious Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) program.
Tampa General earned the certification by meeting core standards in cancer treatment planning; staffing training and education; chemotherapy orders and drug preparation; patient consent and education; safe chemotherapy administration; and the monitoring and assessment of patient well-being.
QOPI certification is renewed every three years and Tampa General’s current certification term is valid through the end of 2027.
