The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA has filed plans with the city for a 6.2-acre development in Tampa Heights.
The development will include a new 110,000 square-foot YMCA; curated green space; a 200-room hotel, office and retail space and 477 multi-family units, 10% of which will be set aside for affordable housing.
The current YMCA will remain open until the new, more than twice-as-large YMCA opens, featuring a preschool, before- and after-school care, teen programs, summer day camps and multiple wellness programs.
Resources generated by the development will be reinvested through the YMCA to extend services and programs into underserved neighborhoods.
