Florida might be home to any number of American flag-toting pickup trucks, but that doesn’t necessarily make the Sunshine State a beacon of patriotism.
A Wallethub analysis ranked Florida 49th in the nation behind only New York for its patriotism.
Florida landed its near bottom of the barrel score because Floridians don’t volunteer. In that metric, the state ranked dead last. Only 23% of state residents meet standards for volunteering. Floridians also were the worst in civic engagement, including voting and club or group memberships.
Florida came in 19th place for military service, including current, retired and reservist members.
