Sea turtles stricken by cold snap are rehabbing in Palm Beach County

Seventeen green sea turtles disoriented by winter storms last month are recovering in Palm Beach County.

The animals, found stranded along the state’s Atlantic Coast, are at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, where they’re being treated with antibiotics, fluids and intravenous nutrients.

Staff took to naming the turtles after beverages. Among them: Espresso, Ginger Beer, Juice and Pickle, all of which have since been moved to the center’s “Party Tank.”

All the turtles suffered from cold stunning, which causes a loss of mobility and lethargy, The Associated Press reported.

They’re expected to be released in the coming weeks.
