Those are the pillars of Psomi, the Greek American bakery and eatery in Tampa run by chef/owner Christina Theofilos. The fourth is philoxenia, the “art of making a stranger a friend.” The restaurant’s name translates to “bread” but really means the best bite, says this Michelin Young Chef Award winner.

Weekend brunch delivers delicacies like kolokithokeftedes (zucchini + sweet onion fritter) and traditional favorites including souvlakis and gyros. Bakery items feature ladokoulouria (seeded olive oil orange spiced cookie) and tyropita (whipped feta in phyllo). Patrons say the location is charming, service is impeccable and the food is “cooked to perfection.”
