While fireworks and the Fourth of July go hand-in-hand, not everyone enjoys the noise. For those suffering from PTSD, the loud explosions can be triggering, and pet lovers have long complained the noise unsettles their four-legged friends.
There are plenty of ways to celebrate Independence Day without the pyrotechnics. Bustle suggests hosting celebratory outdoor celebrations, complete with themed foods and games. Other options include a trip to the beach, block party or water balloon fights.
