Big Storm has been named “Florida Distillery of the Year” by New York International Spirits Competition.
That’s the Clearwater-based distillery’s banner accomplishment, punctuating 49 awards earned in less than 49 days. Those awards include the following medals: four platinum, two double gold, 13 gold, 14 silver and 12 bronze.
Platinum medals are for “Best in Class: No/Low Sugar” and “Best Flavor: Lemon” from Seltzer Nation and for raspberry vodka, cherry vodka and silver rum from American Spirits Council of Tasters.
Big Storm co-owner L.J. Govoni said he was thrilled for the recognition, which reflects the team’s “pursuit of excellence.”
