St. Petersburg Area Economic Development Corp. CEO J.P. DuBuque is stepping down from his position, effective April 28. DuBuque will become the Chief Operating Officer of the Tampa-based Rivero, Gordimer & Co. accounting firm, according to an EDC announcement this week.

DuBuque has led the St. Pete EDC for seven years.

“I have loved working with companies to educate them about the business benefits of our area and connecting them to the people and programs they need to be successful here,” DuBuque said.

The St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce will assist with finding a replacement, with a search already underway.
